Hello all my South Polers
I was given the very sad news yesterday that Helenswood Freedom Leisure Centre will be closing from 31st March 2024
This has come as a shock to us, and all the gym staff at Helenswood
South Pole AKademy have loved teaching alongside Helenswood Freedom Leisure for the last Decade or so, and am thoroughly shocked and upset that the gym will be closing to the public due to the school, whos premises the gym is on, taking the site back to be used for school purposes only.
We are working alongside Freedom Leisure to find a suitable alternative for lessons to continue with them at one of their other local sites. The consultation process for staff has only just began, and i will keep you up to date as and when i know more.
Until then we still have three months left as usual at Helenswood - Monday and Tuesday night classes are running at advertised - so please join us for our last few blocks at our current group class site!
