Jenni - Head Instructor
Jenni has been pole dancing since 2005 and instructing since 2007. Her love of pole started with a friends pole hen party, where she took to it ‘like a duck to water’ and just wanted to learn more, and teach pole!
Jenni holds an Exercise to Music Level 2 qualification, and is a Pole Passion Level 1, 2 and 3 qualified instructor, she also holds Level 3 Nutritional Advisor Certificate Not only teaching pole dance fitness for her company South Pole AKademy, she also delivers pole dance instructor training internationally for Pole Passion, teaching those up and coming pole instructors a thing or two. She is also a member of REPs and the PFA and in 2009 South Pole AKademy became a PDC recognized school.
South Pole AKademy was set up by Jenni and her former student and doubles partner Cat in 2008 after Jenni gained her fitness and pole qualifications. Providing pole fitness group and private lessons and burlesque fitness in the local south east area to women and men.
In 2009 South Pole AKademy was asked to provide pole fitness tuition for ‘Active Hastings’ a council initiative to encourage sports participation. This is part of the governments’ health scheme to get everyone doing at least 30 minutes of exercise a day. This was an opportunity to open the eyes of our local community to the health and fitness benefits of pole dance fitness, and it is still going strong today.
Some of the achievements Jenni is most proud of are being asked by Pole Passion to be their instructor certificate trainer, not only in the UK but also in Jamaica in 2010 and Spain in 2011 and Budapest 2013. ‘’I love teaching pole to people, and I love teaching people how to be safe and effective pole fitness instructors. Stretching their minds and their bodies so they can become instructors as individual as themselves’’. Jenni is also a spokes model for R Pole and Pocket Pole Studio.
Jenni enjoys performing and helps organizes local performances showing people pole in a positive light. Jenni and Cat were asked to showcase an advance doubles routine at ‘Routine for the Nation’ in May 2010 and South Pole AKademy has been part of events such as the Hastings America Ground 4th July celebration and organized an ‘I heart hastings’ pole night supporting local talent in the area.
Jenni says ‘’Teaching pole fitness makes me feel so happy... and so lucky! I cannot think of anything better than teaching people and seeing the joy of them achieving 'that move' they have been working on, and seeing them get more confident and fitter’’
