Its been a whole year! oops!

2025 is almost over... and i didnt do a blog update allll year! ooops!

Its been a busy year, and all the pole and fitness fun has just kept us sooo busy the time flew by!

So now that 2025 is almost over and 2026 is almost upon us here is a little blog at the end of this year

We have had a fab second year at Summerfields Leisure centre for South Pole Akademy Pole classes, with many new students and old faces continuing their pole fitness journeys - now in full swing and feeling at home at the leisure centre

Lead instructor Jenni has been on a new fitness kick, which all started with an impromptu 9 weeks plan for a fitness photoshoot… obviously wearing South Pole Blue! And this fitness plan is continuing alongside pole as 2026 is her wedding year! check out some of the pics - and yes obviously had to hang off the equipment pole style!

oooooo very excited!!! - we have a Brand new black powder coated 40mm X-Pole ready and waiting for our private lesson students!

It’s so gorgeous and pretty and I love it

Why not book yourself in for private 1:1 or 1:2 lessons

Space is currently available fortnightly on Tuesdays 630-730pm and also Wednesdays 515-615pm

Prices for private lessons are below, and discounts available for block bookings

We are in Studio 2 - which is on the entrance level floor
Enter reception and head along the gallery corridor to the back of the building - studio 2 is directly at the end of the gallery.... you cant miss it!

(PS - dont worry we have more than one pole in actual class!)

Easter Bunny Hoppy Fun

It was our last Monday pole class at Helenswood Sports Centre and because it’s almost Easter it was time for some Easter Bunny fun!

A little bouncy bunny routine to celebrate the end of an era at Helenswood’s before we start our new journey with Freedom Leisure at Summerfields Leisure Centre !

Fundraising Challenge by Leigh

I was contacted by Leigh with a request this week - she is undertaking some numbered challenges to raise awareness of Pickering Cancer support centre in Tunbridge Wells.

Leigh is herself battling stage 4 bowel cancer and wants to give a little something back for the support the charity has given her.

So, this week is challenge 4 and Leigh thought she would try and raise awareness of Pickering at all 4 corners of the earth!
So, South Pole Akademy would be ideal! As it “South Pole”

Leigh joined us at Mondays class at @helenswood_sports_centre to try out pole at “South Pole” for her fund raising

New Venue from April 2024 - Summerfields Freedom Leisure

We have some amazing news!

After the sudden news this week that our long standing venue at Helenswood Freedom Leisure will be closing from 31st March 2024 - the great team at Freedom Leisure have found us a new Venue to run our group classes alongside Freedom Leisure

From April 2024 we will be moving to Summerfields Leisure Centre, Bohemia Road, Hastings, TN34 1ET

Group classes will be the same days and times we currently have (Mondays and Tuesdays 830pm), so there is minimal change to you other than the venue, which is only a short distance away.
Plus now as our new venue is in the Town centre location it is near Bus routes and the Train Station, and the site has a car park where parking is free after 8pm (and only 60p for 2 hours before 8pm) making it even more accessible.

Cant wait to see you at the new venue form April for South Pole AKademy pole fitness classes!

In the mean time do join us at Helenswood until the end of March to support this gym that has been out home for the last decade!
